Reflection

Time flies ! It's halfway through the semester and this is the final blog entry for the assignment. When I was writing my first blog entry I wasn't sure on what my learning goals should be but I knew i'd like to learn as many things that I can about web 2.0 that I've been taking for granted sometimes.Over the last 6 weeks, I did revise the learning goals a little bit.

Writing wise, the first couple of blog posts took a while for me to publish them. Wasn't sure of how the language should be or how long would be appropriate but as the weeks progresses I did get the hang of it and try not to overthink.

Out of all the learning goals, learning HTML is something totally new and it felt good to be able to learn a valuable new skill and enjoying it at the same time. Will definitely continue to explore codeAcademy. Once I've completed the HTML course might start learning another language offered on the site !

Embedding elements to the blog ; maps , social media feed is a way for your readers to get to know more about you beyond the blog. Some might not be comfortable with it but i guess it depends. If attracting traffic is the number one priority, linking accounts together makes it easier to attract traffic from different sites.

Interactions between group members helped me learn a few things from each other. New IM blogs that I can follow & how to troubleshoot a few things.

Overall, this assignment have made me explore web 2.0 beyond my usual sites and be more proactive searching for useful tools, apps. Even though after watching the Citizenfour documentary makes me nervous about being connected, the web has become an important part of our lives.

  2. I'm going to have to watch Citizenfour now for sure! Even though privacy is a terrifying thing, I think that this course has encouraged me to embrace the internet in a much bigger way than I have done before.
